THE HR MATTERS MAGAZINE 2010
HR FORUM
EYE IN THE SKY
We
are thrilled to host the 2nd HR Matters Magazine Forum 2010 this April
in a bigger and better way. This Forum is held together by a simple thread
– a need to understand what HR really
wants.
So, what do we want?
| …
|
we
want a seamless takeover of roles and responsibilities when talent
leaves us |
| … |
we
want a truly engaged workforce, one that comes up with solutions and
ideas, that is gung-ho, that doesn’t seem to be coasting along
with the current tide, waiting on the sidelines for something better
to wash ashore |
| … |
we want our organisational brand to continuously remain attractive.
It helps us do our job. It needs to be a magnet, attracting the right
sort of people on board |
| … |
we want to have the right people, the right systems, the right policies
in place so that it’s that much easier for us to attract and
retain the right talent |
| … |
we
want a better grip on the makeup of the current workforce, something
that goes beyond the clichés and generalisations that dog the
GenX and GenY wars |
| … |
we
want a clearer idea of what everyone is doing so we can see what we’re
doing right and what we’re doing wrong |
| … |
we
want more information on effective compensation and benefits plans
and what successful companies are doing right in this area |
| … |
we
want a holistic plan and a comprehensive approach towards training |
| … |
we
want to be able to truly assess the value behind the training initiatives
we put in place, to know that it presents real value and to see its
value in action. |
The
Forum will encourage you to think about these issues and help you come
up with new ideas and approaches to these persistent issues.
We
do this in two ways. Firstly, by staying focused. We do not tackle every
single issue. Time and space do not permit it, but more importantly, these
are the issues you have brought forward to us as your
current concerns. So we tackle them one at a time. Secondly, by creating
and sustaining a learning environment. The programme topics and the structure
of the Forum is geared towards a learning, discussion oriented, there’s-no-one-right-answer
environment. We’ll have mini workshops, active learning, video presentations,
question/answer slots and brainstorming sessions. We’ll also have
exciting themed-presentations and live interviews.
I look forward to meeting you there !
