Navigating through Lean Times

In order to remain competitive in the 21st century, Talent Managers need to develop the ability to identify resources that can steer the organisation towards a competition-free market, i.e a market where customers know exactly what goods and services are being provided, that these provide real value for the money invested and can be assured of quality of delivery. As Talent Managers, your resources would require to have three basic capabilities ie customer value, lean businesses and emerging leaders.

In this Mini Workshop, we discuss how the elimination of waste and the supporting the willingness to change will lead to breakthroughs in achievement. We also examine the capabilities above, in more detail, focusing on the following :

Understanding the differences of Value Added Activities, Value Enabling Activities and Non Value Added Activites

Strength Based Leadership
2.15PM – 4.30PM
led by Samuel Kurian

A strength-based approach is focused on developing the core strengths possessed as opposed to addressing your inherent weaknesses. This approach involves :-
i. Knowing Yourself – Grow Yourself
ii.Knowing Others – Grow Others
iii. Knowing your Business - Grow Your Business

In this Mini Workshop, we examine these capabilities in more detail focusing on the following :

Understanding Self Defining Values, Strengths and Motivations

How to articulate your personal strengths

Building Emotional Awareness
Cognitive Styles
- Apply techniques to manage and effectively reframe your emotional responses
- Understanding your preferred cognitive style
Engaging Others - Motivating through strengths
- Developing Talent
- Position team members’ and make assignments to projects, tasks and goals based on strengths
- Conduct conversations with team members to help them clarify their strengths
- Determine action to increase your managerial effectiveness through a strengths based approach
