Remuneration Packages for Skilled Talent
9 June 09 | Kelly
Services today launched its Malaysia Employment Outlook and Salary
Guide 09/10 - A Practitioner's Insight to Salaries Across Industries
(the Salary Guide).
According to the Salary Guide, despite the global economic challenges
and its increasing impact on Malaysia's overall economy, there
are still employment opportunities in IT, Engineering, Healthcare,
Digital and Telecommunications, Outsourcing, Call Centre, Islamic
Banking and Finance sectors.
The Salary Guide further noted recruitment opportunities for candidates
with strengths in market research and product/brand knowledge,
and revealed that call centre job opportunities generally required
agents skilled in multiple languages. In addition, the Guide reported
continued job opportunities and demand for talent with specialised
skills in areas of marketing and business development, healthcare
and mechanical engineering.
As a result of the global economic crisis, the employment market
for manufacturing, electrical and electronics and the retail sector
is expected to remain cautious.
Malaysia's northern and southern regions showed a demand for professionals
such as engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, researchers
in life sciences and bio-technology sectors. The skills and professions
in demand in both these regions vary according to local industry
and location. Generally it's a soft labour market with a preference
for more temporary and contract based positions rather than hiring
permanent staff.”
