JobsDB Malaysia's Career Expo 2010
kicking off partnership with TuneTalk

17 Mar 2010 Kuala Lumpur | JobsDB Malaysia, Asia’s leading online recruitment network and solutions provider, announced the soft launch of JobsDB Malaysia Career Expo 2010, which will take place in KL Convention Centre (KLCC) from 7th to 9th of May, 2010. The job fair will be distinct for three reasons: better location, better technology and better job candidates.

“Where else but KLCC can one find a better location?” said Mr. Timothy Hor, General Manager of JobsDB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, in a speech during the soft launch. “It’s right at the heart of the city, easily accessible and, well, its right in front of our office. And I need not emphasise further on the world-class facilities offered by KLCC”.

“The job fair will also use state-of-the-art technology which will be the first and perhaps the only job fair that is 100% paperless,” said Mr. Hor. “Powered by a proven and world class software solution, the Career Fair allows seamless process from registration to job application. Job candidates will be given a“bar-coded” registration card and all they need to do, to apply for a position, is to get “scanned”. As all the job candidates’ resumes are already pre-loaded in our portal, the scanning process will automatically upload the candidates’ resume into the exhibitors database. In short, both the candidates and participating employers can walk in and out of the job fair paperless!”

Additionally, the expo will see JobsDB’s technology partner, Tune Talk, utilise its SMS services for application of job via mobile phones. It will be made available immediately during the event to its current service users, while non-users can obtain one at the show at a special price. Tune Talk was represented by its CEO, Mr. Jason Loh.

Mr Hor emphasised the third reason for Career Expo being a better job fair – better Job Candidates. The fair will run workshops on building quality resumes and include sessions on personal development courtesy of Leadership Resources (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, representing the FranklinCovey Co. USA.

Principles and concepts derived from the FranklinCovey curricula, including the 8th Habit book by Dr. Stephen R Covey, will be shared during specific sessions. Stephen R. Covey also authored the hugely successful 7 Habits of Highly Effective People which was named the #1 Most Influential Business Book of the Twentieth Century.

The JobsDB Malaysia’s Career Expo will be the fifth in its history and is expected to draw around 40,000 participants and more than 100 exhibitors. This will be the only career fair in Malaysia and first time for JobsDB Malaysia to hold personality development seminars.
