Professor George Kohlrieser honoured with international brand personality award

ICLIF’s Dean of Faculty recognized for high performance communication

20 Oct 2010 Kuala Lumpur | The ICLIF Leadership and Governance Centre’s Dean of Faculty and Head of Research, Professor Dr George Kohlrieser has been awarded International Brand Personality Award for his contribution in the field of high performance communication by The BrandLaureate, Asia Pacific Brands Foundation.

BrandLaureate Chief Executive Officer Dr K.K. Johan said, “The BrandLaureate Brand Personality Award recognises outstanding brands and individuals, who have successfully built their reputations through their achievements and contributions.”

“Professor Dr George Kohlrieser is an organisational and clinical psychologist and his research, teaching, and consulting activities focus on high-performance leadership, the neuroscience of optimum performance, conflict, change management, and negotiation, and incorporates lessons he learned as a police psychologist and hostage negotiator. He is a role model and brand ambassador and sets the benchmark for excellence in high performance communicator.”

As the Head of Research and Dean of Faculty at ICLIF, Dr Kohlrieser is responsible for ICLIF’s research effort and leads ICLIF’s core programs. Professor Dr George Kohlrieser is also Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behavior at IMD (International Institute for Management Development), Switzerland.

He has worked in over 100 countries spanning five continents. His international best-selling book, Hostage at the Table: How Leaders Can Overcome Conflict, Influence others, and Raise Performance, received the “Best Business Book Award 2007” from DCF (French Association of Business Leaders) and "Best Management Book 2008" in Germany by Managementbuch.de. It has been translated into twelve languages.

The ICLIF Leadership and Governance Centre, headed by Mr Rajeev Peshaswaria was established as a not-for-profit corporation by Bank Negara Malaysia in October 2003 to provide leadership development programmes for Malaysian and global senior executives from financial institutions and business corporations. The mission of ICLIF is to develop a new generation of world-class leaders who can effectively manage their organisations by successfully weathering today’s turbulent, highly competitive and globalised business environment.
