Malaysian Management Capability Index (MCI)
Launch 2010

| The
Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) together with Malaysia
Productivity Corporation (MPC) organised the MIM-MPC Malaysian
Management Capability Index 2010 (MCI) Report Launch at Putra
World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur on 27 October 2010.
The event witnessed the launching of the 2010 Malaysian Management
Capability Index (MCI) Research Study Report by YABhg Tun Hanif
Mohamed Omar, President of MIM and YBhg Tan Sri Azman Hashim,
Chairman of MPC. Undertaken by MIM-MPC, the research study was
conducted with the continued endorsement by the Asian Association
of Management Organisations (AAMO), a 18-member consortium of
national management organizations, of which MIM is a country member.

YABhg Tun Hanif said in his welcome address, “The SMEs remained
the largest respondents to the survey commensurating with their
significant number in Malaysia and their contribution to Malaysia’s
GDP”.
222 companies and their CEOs, Managing Directors and General Managers
took part in the 2010 Malaysian MCI Research Study 2010.
"The improvement in the Management Capability Index from
67.7(in 2008) to 72.0 (in 2010) and the overall higher assessment
in all categories for 2010 indicate an improvement in Malaysian
organisations’ management capability", said YBhg Tan
Sri Azman Hashim.

The survey produced the overall index for Malaysian management
capability and the index for the individual organisation's management
capability, which allows Malaysian organisations to assess their
current capability; and which also serves as a benchmark with
other countries. The findings of MCI 2010 were published into
a report, which was presented to all attendees at the forum.
An appreciation certificate was given to 12 MCI Survey Respondents
who have been participating in the survey for 3 years continuously.
