takes consulting to the cloud with OrgVue
Launches intuitive design tool

London
| Concentra,
the business consulting and technology services firm, has launched
an organisational design tool called OrgVue on 22 September 2011.
The cloud-based tool joins people, processes and performance together
and helps HR and the Board make the right decisions about organisational
design.
The powerful
application enables organisations to identify patterns or gaps
in their workforce, including capabilities, activities andcompetencies.
After a series of successful pilot phase projects, multiple clients
have now signed for the full OrgVue suite. Several organisations,
from management consultancies through to HR teams at local councils,
have taken up the web-based tool. Wakefield District Council and
Royal Sun Alliance (RSA) have both been using the software.
“OrgVue
has enabled our HR team to adopt a more strategic role in delivering
efficiency and value to the organisation. It used to take up to
three and a half days to collate the data needed to answer certain
questions about how the Council is run, but now the same questions
can be be solved in ten minutes,” said Helen Grantham, HR
Director at Wakefield District Council.
“We’ve
already become more efficient by using OrgVue to discover connections
between sick leave and working conditions. This hasenabled us
to take action to combat high levels of absence.”
The tool maps
not only personnel, but also business functions and company hierarchies.
OrgVue can be used to identify skills gaps, anomalous rates of
sick leave and risks from staff turnover, tenure or retirement.
In anticipating and identifying these issues, companies can create
strategy and contingency plans to tackle foreseeable problems.
“We
are using OrgVue in multiple areas of our business, where it has
proved itself invaluable,” said Sam Healey, group organisation
development leader at RSA.
“OrgVue
has transformed our ability to see the current state and to model
change to understand its impact and benefits. When working with
our senior leadership it allows us to accelerate the organisational
design process and provides immediate insightthat would otherwise
be invisible. This helps us to make better decisions and secure
the buy-in of stakeholders,” continued Healey.
Benchmarking
is a vital element in achieving strategic results but can often
fail to capture real progress. OrgVue can be used to create an
intelligible and comprehensive map of progress against plans.
This means detailed reports can be produced in minutes and re-run
on the fly, reducing the time it takes to benchmark progress.
