New research shows 7 in 10 corporate websites not good enough for job seekers

StepStone Solutions talent symposium 2011: Corporate website is first stop for young talents

Singapore | New research released at the 2011 talent symposium organised by StepStone Solutions reveals that most companies are at risk of losing young talent through not understanding discrepancies between the expectations of young job candidates and current recruitment practices.

The impact of poor online recruitment processes could be detrimental to their employer branding efforts, especially when companies are in need of new people to fill up the talent pipeline in a highly competitive marketplace.

This is the second time this online recruitment research is conducted in the Asia-Pacific region. Commissioned by StepStone Solutions and conducted by SHRI, the research found that 68 percent of local large and international companies are not doing well enough with their career website, especially as young talents rate corporate websites as their top job-seeking channel.

“The Business Impact of New Talent Acquisition” 2011 symposium and Award held on 21 March 2011 featured top executives such as Drs Rolf Bezemer, Managing Director (Singapore) of StepStone Solutions and Mr David Ang, Executive Director of Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI). Senior executives from leading companies also shared their invaluable insights on talent management.

At the event, StepStone Solutions released findings from the latest recruitment research, which examines the best steps employers can take in a changing job-seeking environment. Awards were presented to the three best performing companies for their online recruitment efforts. The top three winners were SCHAWK!, Marina Bay Sands and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
