1 August 2011

Kuala Lumpur | Robert Walters released in mid June 2011, the results of its Asia Job Index for the first quarter of 2011 with the following key highlights:

§ Recruitment advertising volumes in March reached their highest levels since the inception of the Asia Job Index in Q2 2008.
§ Retail services and business development sectors have seen high levels of recruitment as companies looked to capitalise on renewed consumer confidence and spending.
§ Government projects focused on developing infrastructure and business services in Malaysia have had a significant impact on recruitment, particularly within logistics, engineering and business development.

The Robert Walters Asia Job Index tracks advertisement volumes for professional positions across the leading job boards and national newspapers in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Japan. For the first time, data from Korea and Malaysia is also included.
